-
Each galaxy has 180° rotational symmetry
Every galaxy is symmetric about its center dot. For every cell in a galaxy, the cell reflected through the center must also belong to the same galaxy.
-
Use the center to find paired cells
For each galaxy center, any cell you assign to it immediately determines its mirror cell. If the mirror cell is already claimed by another galaxy, this assignment is invalid.
-
Galaxies cannot overlap
Each cell belongs to exactly one galaxy. Once a cell is claimed, its mirror through every other galaxy center is eliminated from those galaxies.
-
Small galaxies constrain neighbors
A galaxy with a small clue (or whose center is near a wall) has few valid cell sets. Determine these small galaxies first to lock down their cells.
Put It Into Practice
The best way to improve is to play regularly. Start with an easy puzzle and apply these techniques one at a time.
