About Tents
Tents is a charming logic puzzle set in a campground. Trees are pre-placed in the grid, and you must place one tent adjacent to each tree (horizontally or vertically — not diagonally). Tents cannot touch each other — not even diagonally. Row and column clues tell you how many tents each line contains.
The pairing between trees and tents is one-to-one and exclusive: each tree has exactly one tent, and each tent belongs to exactly one tree. This pairing constraint, combined with the no-touching rule and row/column counts, creates a satisfying deductive puzzle that feels thematically coherent.
Tents is accessible enough for beginners while scaling well to harder difficulties. It’s a great example of a puzzle where the theme reinforces the logic — you’re literally setting up a campsite, and the spatial rules follow naturally from that mental image.
Rows with a clue of 0 immediately eliminate all possible tent positions in that line. Work outward from these empty rows and columns, then use the pairing constraint to resolve which tree each remaining tent belongs to.
