About Binairo

Binairo (also called Takuzu or Binary Puzzle) is a binary logic puzzle where you fill a grid with 0s and 1s under three rules: no three consecutive identical symbols in any row or column, equal numbers of 0s and 1s in every row and column, and no two rows or columns may be identical.

These three rules interact powerfully. Spotting “1 _ 1” forces the middle cell to be 0. Counting the existing 0s in a row may force all remaining cells to be 1. Checking for near-duplicate rows resolves ambiguous cells that no individual rule would catch.

Binairo is excellent for beginners to logic puzzles because the constraints are immediately understandable — there are only two symbols — yet the grid-level reasoning required for harder puzzles is genuinely challenging. It also plays quickly: a 10×10 grid typically takes 5–15 minutes.

The balance rule is the most powerful starting point. Once half a row is filled with one symbol, all remaining cells must be the other. This cascade of forced placements often unlocks a chain of deductions that fills the grid rapidly.
