Shade based on region clues
Each numbered region must contain exactly that many shaded cells. A region with clue 0 has no shaded cells — mark them all white. A region whose clue equals its size is entirely shaded.

No adjacent shaded cells
Shaded cells cannot touch each other orthogonally (horizontally or vertically). After placing a shaded cell, mark its four neighbors as unshaded.

White cells must stay connected
All unshaded cells must form a single connected group. Before shading a cell, verify it won't disconnect the white area.

Count remaining quota in each room
As you shade cells in a region, track how many more the clue requires. When the remaining quota equals the remaining empty cells in the region, shade them all.
