-
Numbers show visibility range
A numbered cell sees cells in all four directions until blocked by a black cell, including itself. The number counts total visible white cells.
-
Black cells cannot touch
No two black cells may be orthogonally adjacent. After placing a black cell, its four neighbors must remain white.
-
White cells must stay connected
All white cells form one connected group. A black cell that would disconnect the white area is invalid.
-
Work from large and small clues
A clue of 1 means the cell sees only itself — all four neighbors must be black. A clue equal to the grid size means its entire row or column is white.
Put It Into Practice
The best way to improve is to play regularly. Start with an easy puzzle and apply these techniques one at a time.
