Key Strategies

  1. Check all 8 directions

Words can run horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — and in both forward and backward directions. Scan every direction from each letter that matches the start of a word.

  2. Find unique letters first

If a word contains a rare letter (Q, Z, X, J), find that letter in the grid first. There will be fewer candidates, making the search faster.

  3. Use the word list strategically

Look for words with distinctive letter patterns or double letters. These stand out more easily than words made entirely of common letters.

  4. Eliminate found words

Cross off each word as you find it. This reduces the cognitive load and lets you focus your search pattern on the remaining, harder-to-find words.

Put It Into Practice

The best way to improve is to play regularly. Start with an easy puzzle and apply these techniques one at a time.
