-
Each color must be connected
All white cells form one connected group and all black cells form one connected group. Placing a cell disconnects or connects — check both groups after each move.
-
No 2×2 single-color blocks
Neither color may form a 2×2 square. This is the tightest local constraint and frequently forces cells near corners or edges.
-
Use the given cells as anchors
Pre-placed black and white cells anchor each color's connectivity requirements. Trace which cells must connect to these anchors and which color they force.
-
The boundary of each region is important
Cells that sit between two existing cells of different colors can often only take one color — the one that doesn't disconnect the other color's group.
Put It Into Practice
The best way to improve is to play regularly. Start with an easy puzzle and apply these techniques one at a time.
