-
Start from numbered cells near corners
Cells with low numbers (1 or 2) near a corner have fewer neighbors, making their mines easy to pinpoint. Solve these first to open up safe areas.
-
Use the 1–1 pattern
Two adjacent "1" cells that share the same group of unknown neighbors often reveal that one specific cell is safe and another is a mine. Look for this pattern along edges.
-
Mark mines before clicking safe cells
Flag all mines you're certain about before clicking unknowns. A correct flag reduces the remaining mine count, unlocking new deductions nearby.
-
The 1–2 pattern
A "1" adjacent to a "2" where one of the 2's neighbors is already flagged often forces the remaining mine and safe cell assignments. Practice recognizing this quickly.
-
Count remaining mines per region
If a numbered cell has exactly as many unflagged neighbors as its remaining mine count (total minus already-flagged), all those neighbors are mines. Flag them all.
Put It Into Practice
The best way to improve is to play regularly. Start with an easy puzzle and apply these techniques one at a time.
