-
Corner cells have only one orientation
A pipe piece in a corner can only connect in two directions. Determine which piece type fits and lock it in — this chains to neighboring cells.
-
Trace from dead ends
Find pipe pieces that must connect in a specific direction (L-bends in corners, straight pipes against walls). Trace outward from these anchors.
-
Think about flow continuity
Water flows from source to sink. If you see a line heading toward an edge with no exit, backtrack — the piece before it needs a different orientation.
-
Eliminate one orientation at a time
For each ambiguous cell, try each rotation. If one rotation forces a dead end downstream, eliminate it. You'll often be left with only one valid choice.
Put It Into Practice
The best way to improve is to play regularly. Start with an easy puzzle and apply these techniques one at a time.
